DYNAMICS 365 FINANCE & OPERATIONS

Supported integration methods suited to your ERP processes.

We assess data entities and business rules across D365 F&O purchasing, inventory, production, sales and finance processes. Appropriate integration APIs and Data Management Framework (DMF) capabilities are selected according to volumes and processing requirements.

The method depends on cloud or on-premises deployment, version, available entities and process requirements. We use supported interfaces rather than direct SQL writes to the D365 application database.

  • OData for appropriately exposed public data entities and custom services where needed, accounting for record-level business logic, authorization and API limits.
  • DMF, data packages and appropriate data management APIs for high-volume or scheduled transfers. Track batch completion and failed records separately.
  • Business events notify external systems, with follow-up data queries where appropriate. Event notifications are not used as a substitute for bulk data export.

REST APIs & WEB SERVICES

Controlled data exchange between business applications.

We assess REST APIs or suitable web services offered by ERP, CRM and third-party business applications. Message contracts, processing order and error behaviour form part of the design.

  • Define source-to-target field mappings, data types, required fields, units, code conversions and interface versions.
  • Separate operations requiring an immediate response from scheduled batch transfers. Choose flows according to latency, volumes, dependencies and source capacity.
  • Retries that respect timeouts and request limits, with rules to prevent duplicate records when requests are repeated and controlled reprocessing.

SQL SERVER, ETL & ELT

Reliable flows from operational data to analytics infrastructure.

We plan data flows from SQL Server, ERP and CRM sources into reporting or warehouse layers. ETL transforms data before loading; ELT transforms it after loading into the target. The choice depends on data and target environment requirements.

  • Use supported source APIs, controlled exports or authorized read interfaces. Direct writes to business application databases are not recommended.
  • Assess full and incremental loads, supported change tracking, deleted records and period or timestamp controls.
  • Source-to-target reconciliation, data quality rules and error records, with load timing and transformation steps supporting traceable reporting data.

POWER PLATFORM & BUSINESS APPLICATIONS

Connect workflows using the capabilities of your applications.

We assess Power Apps, Power Automate and Dataverse connection options alongside your licensing, environments and data security policies. Each option has different suitability for data types and business processes.

  • Use available connectors or appropriate custom connectors to access business applications, accounting for authentication, connector limits and data policies.
  • Assess D365 F&O and Dataverse patterns such as dual-write, virtual tables or business events where suitable. Distinguish data synchronization from access without replication.
  • Define process ownership, exception handling and reprocessing for notification and approval flows. Check environment configuration, user permissions and licensing prerequisites at the outset.

SECURITY & OPERATIONS

Keep each stage of the data flow under control.

We plan security, error handling and monitoring from the start. Authentication and authorization follow the mechanisms supported by the source and target applications.

  • Least-privilege service access, OAuth 2.0 and enterprise identity providers where appropriate, with secrets stored securely outside code and logs.
  • Classify failures, apply controlled retries and isolate failed records. Define responsibilities for alerts, intervention and reprocessing.
  • Trace source-to-target transactions through transaction or correlation identifiers, without unnecessarily logging personal or sensitive data. Agree access, retention and monitoring requirements.
