BUSINESS PROCESS AUTOMATION

Turn repetitive work into defined, traceable processes.

We assess automation needs across Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, Power Automate, Excel and your data infrastructure. Our digital transformation approach focuses on manageable solutions with clear business rules, responsibilities and cross-system flows.

Discuss your automation needs

BUSINESS VALUE

Give your teams a more consistent way of working.

We assess recurring tasks across finance, procurement, operations and IT to identify steps suited to automation. Decisions requiring human judgement and exceptional cases remain part of the process design.

  • Standard steps designed to reduce repeated data entry and manual file handling.
  • Clear visibility of pending approvals, task owners and processing status.
  • Traceable processes with data checks, exception handling and recorded transaction history.

DYNAMICS 365 FINANCE & OPERATIONS

Configure ERP approvals around your business rules.

D365 F&O workflows organize in-application review, approval, task assignment and notification steps for supported documents and processes. We assess these separately from Power Automate flows that operate across applications.

Not every approval scenario can be delivered through standard configuration or without code. Depending on the module, version and document type, extensions, development or supported integration may be needed. The scope is agreed during analysis.

  • Assess review steps for purchase requisitions and purchase order approvals based on amounts, organizational structure, roles and responsibilities.
  • Review available workflow types, document states and control needs for purchase agreements and invoice approvals. Assess suitability separately for other contract types.
  • Plan user notifications, task routing, delegation, escalation and exceptions around the capabilities of the available modules and workflow types.

MICROSOFT POWER AUTOMATE

Connect notifications and approvals across applications.

We assess Power Automate cloud flows for event-triggered, user-initiated and scheduled processes. A Power Automate approval does not, by itself, approve a D365 document or execute ERP business rules; that connection requires separate design.

Power Automate licensing requirements can vary with standard, premium or custom connectors, flow types and usage scenarios. Existing Microsoft 365 or Dynamics 365 licences are not assumed to cover every scenario; requirements are checked before the project.

  • Automated notifications and approval requests, assessing suitable connections to Microsoft 365 applications such as Teams, Outlook or SharePoint.
  • Define approvers, responses, waiting states and exceptions, together with the actions and permissions required in the source system.
  • Track triggers, connection ownership, runtime limits and failed runs for scheduled checks and transfer tasks.

EXCEL, POWER QUERY & VBA

Organize data preparation and recurring reporting tasks.

We identify repetitive steps in Excel-based operations, planning data preparation with Power Query and file or workbook operations with VBA in suitable desktop scenarios.

Power Query queries or VBA macros alone do not provide a continuously running, unattended server process. Scheduling, operational ownership and the need for user intervention are assessed separately.

  • Combine source files, set data types, cleanse data and build reusable transformations with Power Query.
  • Prepare recurring reports, populate templates and validate outputs. Assess refresh conditions, source access and file locations together.
  • Handle files and data in suitable VBA scenarios, checking macro security, Excel versions and users’ working environments.

SQL SERVER & DATA-DRIVEN AUTOMATION

Turn data preparation into controlled processing tasks.

We plan authorized data processing, validation and reporting preparation in SQL Server around business rules. Scheduling and operational options depend on the existing server environment, edition and permissions.

  • Prepare data with defined queries and appropriate stored procedures, considering transaction boundaries, data types and source workload.
  • Check missing or duplicate records, reporting periods and totals. Isolate failed data and reconcile sources with targets.
  • Plan task dependencies, execution order and reruns for secure, traceable processing within authorized data areas.

AUTOMATION & SYSTEM INTEGRATION

Connect an event in one system to the right business action.

Automation defines when and under which rules a task runs; integration determines how data moves between systems. We design them together to connect business steps with data flows.

  • Start a task, notification or subsequent process through suitable APIs or integrations following a document or business event.
  • Map fields and check states across systems, with rules that prevent duplicate processing when events are repeated.
  • Distinguish real-time processing from batch work. Use supported interfaces and business rules rather than direct SQL writes to ERP databases.

SECURITY & TRACEABILITY

Operate automation with clear responsibilities and controls.

We address authorization, error handling and logging from the start. Process owners, technical teams and users have defined roles, and automated operations follow organizational access policies.

  • Least-privilege user and service access, separation of duties for approvals, connection ownership and secure management of secrets.
  • Classify failures, apply controlled retries and involve people when necessary. Define alerting and reprocessing responsibilities for failed operations.
  • Log run and transaction identifiers, processing states and approval history, with access and retention rules that avoid unnecessary personal data collection.

PROJECT APPROACH

Work together from process analysis to user readiness.

We first agree the priority process and acceptance criteria, then assess scope, user experience and operational responsibilities together.

  1. Analyse the process

Identify existing steps, business rules, waiting points, exceptions and process owners.

  2. Design

Design the appropriate tools, data flows, approval roles and error handling, clarifying any need for customization.

  3. Develop

Implement workflows, connections and required custom development within the agreed scope.

  4. Test

Check normal processing, rejection, reruns, permissions and failure scenarios with users.

  5. Train users

Prepare process owners and users for their tasks, notifications and exception handling.

  6. Go live

Agree transition, rollback, monitoring and support responsibilities before releasing for use.
